Our Mission

The primary objective of the music school is to enable our young and adult students to learn to read music. To accomplish our music reading goals and objectives, our students are taught step by step on a one on one basis the

fundamentals of music theory. All of our students begin with the piano to be competent readers of the bass and treble clefs. Our gifted students are prepared for leadership positions in their school bands. For over three decades; Northport Music Institute students are among the most outstanding students of the school bands in our community. Graduates of Northport Music Institute have received scholarships from the University of Alabama, University of Alabama at Birmingham, Jackson State University, Vanderbilt University, and many more. The common denominator between all of our students who had such successes in the collegiate realm was starting lessons at Northport Music Institute from the beginning. Students had upwards of 10 years of experience with our instructors, and they were able to build the correct habits necessary for advanced music learning.
